Being the cool design and robust wheels and stability makes this bike super powerful if you wish to go on a trail biking trip.
Lapierre’s quality and brilliant performance are unbeatable and you will find it one of the most loved E-Mountain trail bikes in the market.
Use it as an E-bike or just like a regular one Lapierre is good in both, plus the battery integrated can help you rest your feet a bit whole on a long trail.
Features
Let us dig into the features of this E-bike that make it so un-resistible and trustworthy on bouncy tracks and slippery roads. The main features are:
1. E-assist electrical bike motion
With a lightweight motor to boost power while climbing and a battery to run it, this bike has assisted electrical bike motion i.e. the motor only assist while you paddle to climb and does not run the bike all the time like in other E-scooters or bikes. This assisted motion is great for high steep inclines and can support weight up to 60 kgs easily. If you wish you can remove this around 3.5b kg e-assist system from the bike and run it like a normal mountain trail bike.
2. Design
With a carbon body and cool design, this bike attracts mountaineers greatly. What a mountain rider wishes are the design to be similar to a regular mountain bike and Yes! You have got it in Lapierre E-bike. With completely internal embedded cabling and a finished frame the body is not only durable but also looks classy.
3. Motor performance
Equipped with a Fazua’s 250 WH motor that can go up to a peak output of 400 watts the motor power is somewhat lesser than the other E-bikes but great enough to support a 70 – 90kg rider on a steep climb. With assisted motion, the bike has great agility and you will feel a noticeable effect in climbing with or without the motor running. Speed deliverance is around 25 % faster than the regular bike.
4. Brakes
Tiagra’s flat-mounted hydraulic brakes with a rotor diameter of 160 mmm the braking and speed halting mechanism of the Lapierre e-bike are impressive. Be it the damping or the modulation required while descent or climbing up both will amaze you on the ride.
5. Gear
With a group set of 10 tier, Tiagra hydraulic systems the gears on this bike rear wheels are great plus speed variation along the ride is super easy and you have many speed settings available due to the gearbox. The system can handle up to 34t settings on the low rear cassette and switching is no problem due to the advanced Dura-Ace trickle-down technology.
6. Comfort
Lighter weight and great shock absorption make the ride very comfortable on the rough uneven mountain trails. You would appreciate the great grip and jerk-free brakes. The wider handlebar and soft breathable saddle fabric and design make the whole ride a smooth and highly comfortable experience for the rider.
7. Wheel
Integrated M1 motor on the rear wheel and fast Ace hub on the front these Mach1 820 wheels are highly durable and worth relying on. The grip and bite they offer on the climb and the slippery roads are stunning and are greatly reliable to last on tough areas for longer. The front-wheel design is TRU-axle while the rear can be removed by unplugging the motor.
8. Battery
Lapierre E-bike has a 250-watt battery that can give a mileage of about 50-70 miles assist to a 70-80 kg rider on a single charge. This is quite impressive and you can be saved from extra pushes while climbing as the battery can boost power for about 1000 meters on climbing terrain.
9. Climbing performance
Coming to the power and stability while climb, Lapierre will impress you there too. Good for steep climbs due to the lightweight design and rugged tires and lighter steering the bike is great to climb quickly and efficiently.
What do we like?
The design and portability of this E-bike are great for mountain trail biking. Integrated easy to remove battery and e-assist by the motor is quite helping on very steep climbs where you need to push that extra weight up. Hydraulic brakes and high shock absorbance makes the overall ride comfort and you won’t feel jerk when you suddenly stop or you fall while descent.
What we don’t?
Motor power is not that much impressive plus the rear end needs a bit more stability and length. The rider has to consciously point weight forward while the climb to maintain the gravity center.
Final verdict
Although the motor and battery, performance may not be up to the other E-bikes level as a mountain trail bike Lapierre is great with the assisted power to aid the climbs or paddle through rough and slippery terrains. So in my opinion the bike is a good option if you want a mountain trail bike with an E-assistance in motion.
